Fabricae is a collaboration/installation inspired by conversations about the work of 19th century textile designer May Morris. Annie Coggan and Janis Stemmermann work with a textile print created directly from nature, rethinking its application to intuitive, sculptural, functioning forms. Using Janis’ firewood block print on canvas as a starting point, Annie created two chairs inspired by the tree the print was made from.
Fabricae was on view at Russell Janis Projects from January 12 - February 28, 2022.
